Galio guide - Season 8

Passive :every 8 seconds your next auto attack deals bonus damage which scales with ad & ap and magic resist so make sure u harass every once in a while for that nice bonus damage


Q:somehow this skill is similar to Diana q but it shoots 2 large wind attack and they meet in a small area to deal damage it scales with 80% ap so a lot of people play him full ap but galio is meant to be a tank mage, it is an easy skill shot to land and it is your main harassment in the lane it deals quite high damage


W: passively galio gets a magic shield that only absorbs magic damage every 12 seconds but if you get hit during this 12 seconds the timer reset this passive is really useful when laning against a mage or if the enemy team has a lot of mages in their team because you also grab some magic resist items so it makes you really hard to kill
Active :galio charges up to 2 seconds meanwhile in this time he is slowed but he gets damage reduction which scales with magic resist you hold down the button up to 2 seconds you can instantly use it but then after you release the button you taunt your enemies making them attack you and they get slowed the taunt duration increases as u charge the w maximum taunt is 1.5 sec minimum taunt is 0.5 sec


E: Galio leaps in a straight line before backing up a little bit any unit which collides with galio's E will be knocked airborne for 0.75 seconds
This is how you initiate a fight while playing galio you go with your E then try to taunt as many enemies as you can then your team engage with you this doesn't scale with magic resist but with 90% ap so it deals God amount of damage


R: you leap to an ally giving them damage reduction max level giving them 30% damage reduction which scales with magic resist (8% every 100 ap) it is really useful for roaming and helping other laners if they are losing lanes but it has high cool down on early levels so use it wisely

How to play galio

he plays as a tank mage his role is to take as much damage as he could by forcing enemies to hit him while your team is helping from the back line or he could be a support and peel for the adc and protect him from assassins

Build

you have a variety of items you can buy for galio such as locket Solari /spirit Visage rod of ages /redemption /banshie viel/ abyssal mask/gargoyle stone plate (is really good for him) /zz'rot portal
But the essential items are rod of ages and spirit Visage and banshee viel as they give you lots of ap and a defensive stats

Runes

Resolve tree : (after shock) which gives you bonus armor and magic resist after doing crowd control to someone (your E and W)
(bone plating) /(conditioning) /(over growth)
